Gemma Smith is an Australian artist who works in the media of painting and sculpture.
Gemma Smith’s most recent paintings use complex colour play from a combination of
spontaneous painterly gesture and hard-edge colour-blocking that tangle and weave together
to create intriguing spatial incongruities. Poka-yoke is the painting that was projected onto the
William Jolly Bridge to coincide with Brisbane Arts and Culture Innovation Awards 2016.
